Harvesting grapes in Montemagno
harvesting, making wine, lunch

Lee is American, but he has lived here in Tuscany for 20 years.  He and his wife manage a farm here in Montemagno.  They grow olives, fruits, and vegetables.  Each fall he makes about hundred litres of wine; about what one needs for a year.  We participate in cutting down the grapes, press them, and then in the tank.  Lee will explain everything, and you will get an unsurpassed understanding of how wine is made.  Obviously, Lee explains it all in English.

The program for the day is as follows:
08:30 - Coffee in Villa

09:00 - We walk through the olive grooves up to Lee's farm; it is about 1 km away.  He'll serve olives and a glass of wine.

13:00 - We return to Villa for lunch.  It will last until 15:30.

The arrangement takes place Saturday September 26th 2009.  Contact us if you want to take part.  Limited number of participants!
The images are for the harvest in 2006.
